Teacher’s often use some kind of fixed object to monitor movement in a player’s swing. Sometimes a club is held in place, shafts are stuck in the ground, or video is used. More recently training aids have been developed to address specific swing flaws. The Sway Stick is a low cost solution that can be used in the same manner as other swing trainers that are 2 or 3x the price.

The Sway Stick is a telescoping aluminum pole with a thin foam (swim noodle like) sheath at the top. It has the feel of a camera monopod, and extends from 2’ to just over 6’ in length. The base of the unit is pointed so it is designed to be stuck into the ground. Consider some of the uses of the Sway Stick. 1) Use on the ground as an extra long alignment rod. 2) Angle the stick as a swing plane reference. 3) Insert in the ground outside either leg to prevent sway or indicate a good turn through the shot. 4) Angle the stick so the end is in front of your forehead or beside your head to determine if you sway, dip, stand up, come off the ball, etc.

All in all, the product is a good value for the versatility it provides.
